Imagine having such a big family. Looks quite stressful to move house with such a big number of family members. We got more then one specy. And some of them hurt like hell once they pee or bite on you. Watch out!

Squid BBQ
Hungry for some squids? One of Sihanoukville's specialties are BBQ Squid. Even though they look a bit small they are delicious. Get them freshly done on one of those portable BBQ and you will enjoy them. You could even be at sleep and the smell of those Squids will wake you up. Haven't tried the jellyfish because that one stinks. Come and taste it on the beach.
Sihanoukville - Cambodia
Some say Sihanoukville is the future and some don't. My guess is, we will see.... There are endless possibilities and as many dreams once you arrive to Sihanoukville. Anything you imagine can be done. If it will work out or not thats an other point, but you could still fulfill your dreams. There are more and more investments and projects in and around Sihanoukville so it's a matter of time and this place will ROCK. Picture is a top view of a part of Sihanoukville.
Cambodian Temples
If there is one "thing" you guys should not miss while visiting Cambodia, then it's those amazing temples in Siem Reap. Thruly beautifull and impressive. Knowing that those temples where made with basic tools and a lot of human power, it's even breath taking. You can easely spend three days visiting one temple after the other. There are so many. An other advantage are the direct flights, daily! I do not specificly like stones, but those temples are great!

Rice and Ricefields....
Ever wondered how rice is growing. Those pictures should help to understand it a bit more. Camabodia is one of the leading countries to produce rice. This year it might fall a bit short because we had a very dry rainy season so far. Bad for the crops but nice for tourists and expats, as for the last couple years the rainy season was heavy to take....
Local Electrical Installation
Any professional electrican should take a closer look to this installation. If you can zoom it in. And this is just one of so many wired installations in Cambodia. It's quite commen that somebody gets electroluded or get's hit by a thunder. Local construction works with one and only one goal, save where ever you can. They rather take a fire then spending a bit more on correct material....
Elephant on the Road
Once in a while we get visited by an Elephant. It's still impressive to be next to one of these big fellers as you feel very small. Elephants in Cambodia are not that much used like in Thailand. I'm not aware of an Elephant Farm or so. Nore are there tours available with the big fellers. When have you guys seen lately an elephant?

Waterfalls of Sihanoukville
Thinking about Waterfalls, well, Sihanoukville has some. They are truely not that impressive but hey, it's a Waterfall. Just about 20 minutes away from down town with some nice suroundings for a little pic nic. You might encounter one or the other plastic bag, as cleaning seems not to be their strength. Taking a swim is doable in some areas but the water is pretty cold...!

Incredibale Signs in Cambodia
There has been some other posts before that one, but I have to say it's always a bit surprising what kind of signs you find in Cambodia. Don't smoke sign is well known, Do not sit on the Toilet is rare, do not clean your feet with the bottom cleaner, and do not shower your kids....Honestly, have you seen that before? Cambodia is, remains and will always be the Kindom of Wonder!!!!
The Otres Sunglasses Club
I would like to present you "The Otres Sunglasses Club". After having spent day after day, month after month, with some of the best people on this planet, to be part of the Otres Sunglasses Club is an honoring status, as we started to be part of the Otres area inventory. Some of us just like to have a relaxing place to enjoy, Otres was the place. Some need a daily swimm in the ocean, Otres was the place. Some just like to have a drive along the beach, Otres was the place. Some liked or disliked Tracy's presense, Otres was the place. Others just wanted to escape the "busy" city of Sihanoukville, Otres was the place. Well, to keep it short, OTRES is not what is used to be, as the Cambodian Government demolished every brick......Cambodia, Kingdom of Wonder!
Fantastic Plants in Cambodia
Cambodia is very much Green. The tropical wheater helps to have an absolutely great vegetation. Most things you plant do grow after a while. Cambodia has a wide range of trees and plants, not seen in other areas of this world. Ok, the rainy season can be quite though, but at the end it's worth it as we are graced with an estonishing vegetation. For the time being my garden has Passion Fruits, Bananas, Mangos, Papayas, Chilis and still growing Advocados. There is some other plants/fruits growing at my garden as well but I do not remember the name as it's Khmer stuff.....

Sunset Victory Hill Bar Street
Common pictures during rainy season are those magnificent sunsets we get. This one was taken right outside The Look Restaurant and shows you what you guys are missing not being here in Sihanoukville. July and August are very good month for amazing sunsets, as the weather is likely to be half good half bad. For those of you who do not care about rain, well, The Look Restaurant is open during the entire rainy season, so don’t hesitate, just step in.
Sign: No weapons, No Hand-grenade, No Knives, No Cameras
Can you imagine that less then 20 years ago people in Cambodia were walking around with weapons? Can you imagine that shootings were on a daily occurrence 15 years ago? Well, luckily all that changed in the last 10 years and Cambodia is becoming a more and more safe place. I have not seen more violence in Cambodia for the last 2 ½ years I’ve been here compared to any other country I’ve stayed a while. Even though, signs like to one is pictured can still be seen around the country. So don’t forget to leave all your weapons at home before visiting me in Cambodia….
Robert and Family
„A Dream Come True“ is Roberts Boat-business and he offers very pleasant tours around the dozens of Islands we have on the coast line of Sihanoukville. This picture shows him, his Thai wife and his sister. His boat is a triple Decker, some rooms, a bar and of course some good music to entertain his guests. If you are advanced swimmer you got even the possibility to jump from the top deck. About 10 meters or so, so quite exiting. Those Boat trips are heading out every day as long as the sea permits. For bookings or more info as our Cashier.
Overloaded on the Road
This picture shows an overloaded motto which is heading towards the beach. Those rings are Truck / Bus inner tubes and are used for swimming on the beach. Having overloaded mottos crossing your way is a very common syndrome of Cambodia. You can not imagine what you can lift on a motto. Impressive transports I’ve seen so far where: a couple fridges, at least 20 cases of beer, couple pigs or cows, several huge bags of rice and of course furniture delivery, in those cases you do not really see the motto anymore, as it’s covered in chairs, tables and pillows…..Cambodia would be a good place for the Guinness book of world records!

Islands of Cambodia
There are some stunning islands surrounding the Sihanoukville coastline. Believing in reports and local newspaper all islands of Cambodia have been sold to foreigner investors. Cambodia has a couple dozens of islands, some with turquoise colored beaches and lagoons. For the time being only one has been civilized. In other words on one small island they've build a resort/hotel facility on it. If reports are true, all islands will be accommodated with hotels/resorts, restaurants, villas, golf course, shops and more. It's just a question of time. With the global downturn, Cambodia got hit as well, all projects are floating in the air, but give it 5-10 years and Cambodia will have some amazing modern islands in their portfolio. I guess it will be worth it to check it out, so don't wait too long.....
